Charles-Émile Reynard

Reynard was born on the 8th of December 1844 he was good at art and attended art school. Reynard was responsible for the first projected animation, which included over 500 hundred frames that were all hand painted. 

Another achievement of Reynard was the Praxinoscope, which was a animation device he invented. The Praxinoscope was the successor of the zeotrope it used a strip of pictures placed around the inner surface of a spinning cylinder. In 1978 Reynard received a mention in the Paris Exposition.
